The results speak for themselves
Developed by nutrition and behavioral experts, our Diabetes Program is backed by a multi-center clinical trial. For six months, members living with diabetes followed the Diabetes Program.
Here are the results*:
We make living with diabetes easier*
You can’t talk about diabetes without talking about weight. Science shows that even modest weight loss — 5% of body weight — can help ease insulin resistance. (It also reduces the risk of heart disease and other chronic conditions.)†
WeightWatchers understands the intersection of diabetes and weight loss.
Tailored to take diabetes into account, our program helps members lose weight and lower their blood sugar levels* – and discover a supportive community in the process.

What makes us different?
This plan is tailored to meet the needs of members living with diabetes. We provide resources and flexibility to help each member make sustainable behavior changes.
Our award-winning app helps members track blood sugar readings and view data over time — in the same place where they log food, activity, sleep, and weight.
Easy access to coaching and our members-only Diabetes Connect group help members feel like they’re part of a community that gets it.
“I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes by my physician, suddenly and unexpectedly. I walked in for an annual check-up and walked out with a scary diagnosis.
I wasn’t sure where to start. So, I rejoined my company’s WeightWatchers program. I started using the WW app right away and joined the Living with Diabetes Connect group. It’s comforting to know others in my situation with the same diagnosis and challenges.”
^ People following the WW program can expect to lose 1 to 2 pounds per week.

Your top questions, answered
Our team includes nutrition and behavioral scientists, registered dieticians, clinical researchers, and more. Together, they help members overcome common weight-loss hurdles — like stress-eating or late-night snacking — while our exclusive Points® system makes nutrition easier. After signing up, members answer a few questions to get a customized plan that’s designed to help them build healthy habits with proven behavior change techniques.
After enrolling in the program, a member simply logs into the WW app and answers a few simple questions. They’re asked to indicate if they’re living with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Based on the responses, members living with diabetes will get a customized nutrition plan with a budget and ZeroPoint® food list, curated specifically for those living with diabetes. The Points® Budget is like a financial budget, but with food — and it’s designed to be flexible.
Members still enjoy all aspects of the WeightWatchers program — like coaching, community and recipes — plus a carefully tailored ZeroPoint® food list selected by our nutrition and diabetes experts. They also have access to a blood sugar tracker, allowing them to see patterns and changes in blood sugar over time.
The regular WeightWatchers program is suitable for members with prediabetes. The Diabetes Program is for people who have been told by their doctor or another healthcare provider that they have either type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
WeightWatchers isn’t designed for people who are pregnant — therefore, the Diabetes Program is not recommended for members who have gestational diabetes.
